Welcome to Warrimoo

A small township in the Blue Mountains, between Blaxland and Valley Heights. Initial settlement of the area dates from the 1880's, although more significant development was achieved through the subdivision of land by Sir Arthur Rickard in 1918. Originally named "Karabar",  Rickard renamed the area "Warrimoo", an Aboriginal name meaning "Eagle".

The people of Warrimoo represent a unique community, reminiscent of the days when neighbours worked together to build a strong foundation for their children, and the coming generations. Warrimoo Village Green is working toward the gathering and collation of our local history through the Warrimoo History Project, launched in May 2009.

We hope that you will come back to visit our website from time to time as we continue to add information about what is happening in and around Warrimoo.
